GET TO KNOW JULIA
For someone so young, Julia has a very wise vision regarding her work philosophy with her clients – in Family Law the goal is to resolve the dispute in a compassionate, efficient and collaborative way, that is both empathetic and logical.
Lewis Carrol said, “I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.” Julia sums it up, “This is so appropriate to remember when working in family law. It is our goal to help people move forward, and always be looking to tomorrow.”
Julia has travelled extensively and worked with a group of lawyers in Indonesia to provide access to Indonesian laws and regulations. While working in Jakarta she authored a number of legal articles.
Volunteering is important to her and Julia has helped with Legal Information clinics, West Coast Leaf, and Union Gospel Mission. Her love of theatre and music brought her to volunteer with the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra and Vancouver Opera. Through this opportunity Julia also landed parts in Ariadne auf Naxos and Rigoletto with the Vancouver Opera.
Her work life balance is important, and Julia tries to support the local arts scene by attending shows at the Orpheum, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, and the Chan Centre. In many ways, Julia is very multi-cultural: her favourite location is the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Gardens, and she is learning to cook all things French! She speaks Russian and Bahasa. Julia loves to celebrate a family tradition which includes skating and hot chocolate with her family.
