I seek to find solutions to minimize distress and help separating couples move on to future happiness."
With over twenty years of legal experience, David Joyce has appeared as counsel at all levels of Court including the Supreme Court of Canada. He has been a guest panelist for the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association, and a moot court judge for the PLTC Bar Admission Course and at UBC Law School. David Joyce merges his passion for the law with an empathetic approach, finding practical solutions to his clients’ needs. One of his favourite quotes is by William L. Watkinson, “It is far better to light the candle than to curse the darkness.” David guides his clients to find the light during what can be very tumultuous times.
When away from the office, David’s favourite activity is watching his daughter play hockey and ringette. He also enjoys working out at the gym, snowshoeing, playing tennis, and cruising his motorcycle through British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest.
David Joyce also enjoys cultural activities and travel. Before attending law school, David was a professional playwright and lived for three years in Japan teaching English. He is on the board of directors of Axis Theatre on Granville Island, and lead singer in a rock and roll band. David particularly enjoys performing at charity events such as the Rock for Dimes fundraiser for the March of Dimes, and Lawyers’ Benevolent Fund events at the Commodore Ballroom.
