Family law is where empathy meets advocacy. I believe every client deserves to feel heard, supported, and confidently represented.
Arissa Javer completed her Juris Doctor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. Throughout law school, she took on leadership roles, gave back to the community, and built meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues.
During her time at Allard, Arissa was actively involved in student leadership. She served as the 1L Representative for the Social Welfare Law and Policy Society before being elected President, a role she held throughout both her second and third years of law school. As President, she organized events, led meetings, and worked with students to promote access to justice. She also served as an executive member of the Animal Justice Club and was selected as an Assistant Editor for the Canadian Journal of Family Law.
One of the most rewarding parts of Arissa’s legal education was giving back to the community. She volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada during her first two years of law school before joining the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program in her final year. These experiences gave her the opportunity to work with clients, provide legal information, and see firsthand the impact that legal support can have during difficult times.
Arissa has always been interested in family law because of the direct impact it can have on people’s lives. She appreciates that family law combines many different areas of law and presents new challenges with each client and matter.
She has spent the past three summers with MacLean Law and is excited to return as an Articled Student. She was drawn back by the firm’s collaborative environment, strong work ethic, and commitment to its clients. She looks forward to continuing to learn from the lawyers at MacLean Law while working hard to support clients.
Outside the office, Arissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and relaxing at the beach.
