Catherine is a trusted Calgary family law advisor who emphasizes results, discretion, expertise and outcomes. She will guard your peace of mind.
Catherine Fox, K.C., practices Family Law in Calgary, advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, where financial complexity, privacy and long-term interests require a sophisticated and strategic approach.
Catherine has extensive experience across all areas of family law, including divorce, parenting arrangements, parenting time, decision-making responsibility, contact orders, child and spousal support, property division, separation agreements, common-law property agreements, pre-marriage contracts, adoption, including spousal adoption, and private guardianship matters. She regularly assists clients navigating ultra-high-net-worth family law disputes, bringing a measured, discreet and solutions-oriented approach to matters involving significant assets and complex personal circumstances. She is a trained mediator and collaboratively trained lawyer, is pursuing further training in arbitration, and also represents children. In keeping with her commitment to access to justice, she continues to accept Legal Aid referrals involving children.
Catherine was called to the Alberta Bar in 1989, having articled with the City of Calgary Law Department. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and her law degree from the University of Calgary, and was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.), recognizing her distinguished contributions to the legal profession, in March 2020.
Catherine has a longstanding commitment to community service, both within and beyond the legal profession. Since law school, she has volunteered with organizations including the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, Student Legal Assistance at the University of Calgary, Calgary Legal Guidance, the Kerby Centre, the Animal Rescue Foundation and the Legal Education Society of Alberta.
